My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, with two huge natural fireplaces, were catastrophic, but they turned out to be well-appointed, clean, and a good value. The service was a bit lacking as the staff seemed overwhelmed with tasks, but they were welcoming and friendly. The location, with a short drive to paradise to access the trails, was great, although it was slammed with people. The dining experience, getting you ready for a drive up to Paradise where the snow is deep, was undesirable, but the road and parking lot were clear for driving. The facilities were basic but clean and comfortable.
